The project
As Director of Brand Development at CoolEvents, I led the visual direction of Blacklight Wars, from concept development through design execution. The identity gives this participatory experience a distinct place within the event family.
- My role
- Director of Brand Development, CoolEvents; visual direction, concept development, and design execution
- Scope of work
- Visual concepts and creative direction
- Blacklight Wars logo and visual-identity applications
- Digital campaign layouts
- Glow Wars website and email presentations from the archive
The context
The Blacklight Wars files show a compact identity applied across social headers, talent announcements and ticket promotions. The same archive also preserves earlier Glow Wars materials; those remain clearly labeled by their original name.
Design approach
The Blacklight Wars monogram and cyan-to-violet lettering create a repeatable focal point. Wide digital formats pair that identity with active participant imagery, while a stacked information panel gives performers a clear presence. Glow Wars arena artwork illustrates a separate earlier application without implying the two names were interchangeable.
